& Cellular South Cup FAQs
What are the dates for 2008?
February 22 - March 2
Are tickets available?
Tickets are currently available for every session of the tournament,
although many sessions will sell out. Ordering early helps assure you
of a seat.
Where will my seat be?
Your exact seat location isn't known until the order is processed,
rather than when it is taken. Processing begins in September of each year.
It can take between a few weeks and a few days to process an order once
it is received. Ordering as early as possible is the best way to get the
best seat possible.
When do I get my tickets?
The ticket office receives the tickets in early November. Orders are
mailed as soon as possible thereafter. Call the ticket office (901-685-ACES)
with any further questions.
When will my ticket purchase appear on my credit card?
In most cases, your ticket purchase will appear on your next credit card statement.
Is my ticket cost tax deductible?
No. Although the tournament is played for the benefit of charity,
ticket costs are not tax deductible.
Where do I park? What's the cost?
Parking is at a premium during the tournament. The Racquet Club parking
lot is restricted, and all of the private lots and residences around the club
are off-limits, as is Sanderlin Centre next door (Doubletree Hotel, Kroger,
etc.). Security guards will be posted at the club front gate and these establishments
to limit traffic. We suggest parking along our free
Shuttle Bus Route.
Where is The Racquet Club of Memphis located?
5111 Sanderlin, Memphis, TN 38117-4398
The Racquet Club of Memphis is centrally located in the heart of East Memphis, just north of Poplar Avenue, between Mendenhall and White Station. (Click here to see road map)
When's the best day or session to attend?
Every fan has his/her individual preference. For both tournaments, there are more
matches earlier in the week and during the day sessions. As the week progresses, the
excitement builds as the field narrows and the players fight to win the coveted title.
When do the doors to The Racquet Club open?
The doors to The Racquet Club generally open at 8:00 a.m., and seating in the
stadium usually begins 30 minutes prior to the day session, and 30 minutes prior to
the evening session. But come early and browse through the booths in the hospitality
village, or eat one of our world-famous pronto pups. There are plenty of food choices
for you and your family.
Does my child need a ticket?
All children need a ticket; however, we discourage bringing infants to the tournament.
Will one ticket allow me to watch both the day and evening sessions?
No. You must have a separate ticket for each individual session. On the last
Saturday of the event, there are three sessions (two men's semi-finals and the women's
final), and you must have a ticket for each of the three sessions.
What happens if there is inclement weather?
The tournament is an indoor event. However, weather in Memphis in February is
unpredictable, and you may experience rain, and even sleet and snow. It is our policy,
and is clearly printed on the back of the tickets, that there are no refunds, exchanges
or replacements.
Do you offer discounts?

a valid student I.D. Tickets must be purchased in person at the ticket office.

Kid's Day is for kids 15 and under and features a fun and instructional clinic with ATP
and WTA stars. Kid's Day is hosted by Wayne Bryan, father of the world-famous doubles
team of Bob and Mike Bryan. Admission is free for children 15 and under with the purchase
of a $10 adult ticket.

How can I get a booth at the tournament?
Booths are an excellent way to showcase your company's products.Call Carolyn Hicks at 901-765-4484, or email
Carolyn.hicks@racquetclubofmemphis.com
for more information.
How are the men's and women's draws made?
The draw is made the same way at every tournament on the ATP and WTA circuit. First,
the 8 seeds (the 8 highest-ranked players in the draw) are placed in the draw (No. 1 on
the first line, No. 2 on the last line, and then the others in alternating order on pre-determined
lines). Once the seeds are in place, the other players are drawn at random and placed on the
empty lines ? starting at the top and going down the draw until it is filled.
How are the men's and women's schedule made?
The schedule is made with input from the ATP and the WTA, the players, television, and
the tournament. The tournament makes requests based on what it feels is in the best interest
of the fans.
When is the schedule made?
During the tournament, the schedule is made daily and usually is available around 6:00
p.m. It is then posted on this web site and is made immediately available to the general
public, the media, etc.
Can you tell me now when a particular player will play?
No. In a single elimination tournament, only one player advances, and since no one knows
who will win or lose, no one knows who will play when.
During the event, what will I see on Saturday? On Sunday?
There are two men's semi-finals on Saturday with the first being played at approximately
10:00 a.m. and the second at 3:00 p.m. The women's final is played at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday
night. The men's final is played at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
May I watch matches on other courts?
Yes. When you buy a ticket, you buy a reserved seat on Stadium Court, but you also are
free to watch matches on the two other courts. Generally, matches are played on the other
courts through Thursday.
On how many courts are matches played?
Depending on the day, matches may be played on three courts.
How does The Racquet Club of Memphis facility compare to other professional
tennis facilities?
Conveniently located in the center of Memphis, Tennessee on approximately 15 and a half
acres, the remarkable multi-million dollar Racquet Club includes over 186,000 square feet
of luxurious indoor facilities and is the only private club in the world to host a professional
men's and women's combined indoor event. The tennis professionals and the ATP and WTA staff
members who come in every February for the international tennis event, look forward to and
appreciate the warm atmosphere and the friendly and professional staff. They walk the same
halls with the members, stopping to sign autographs along the way.
I'm buying single session tickets. Where will I sit? May I sit down next to the court?
Stadium Court is divided into three seating classifications: box seats, chair seats and
bleacher seats. The box seats and the first 7 rows of the chair seats are reserved for fans
who are buying tickets for the entire tournament, not just one or a few sessions. However,
please keep in mind that the Stadium Court seats only 5,100, so even the top row provides
a great view of the action. Also keep in mind that the earlier you order tickets, the lower
your seats will be.
How do I volunteer?
Send an email to Phil Chamberlain,
tennisoffice@racquetclubofmemphis.com,
and he will direct you to the proper person.

site, offering special rates for fans. Information on these hotels is on this web site, under
City & Travel Information.
