Australians Nicole Pratt and Bryanne Stewart combined to win their first WTA Tour doubles title after defeating Slovakia's Jarmila Gajdosova and Akiko Morigami 7-5, 4-6, 10-5 (Match TB).

Memphis was the third WTA Tour event this year to use the same doubles format as is now standard on the ATP circuit - no-ad scoring and a Match Tie-break in place of a third set.

Pratt and Stewart, the fourth seeds, did not drop a set en route to the final. Pratt collected her ninth doubles title; Stewart won her third.

Pratt said: "We played a little more aggressive than they did today and it paid off. We like the new format a lot. We had a strategy for the short deuce on either side."
